At Shughart Elementary, our second to fifth grade students in the Academic Advancement Program Services (AAPS) program have been learning about maps, and the different regions of the United States.

The students began by researching various informative text structures, which helped them understand how to organize and present information effectively. They then planned detailed outlines for their reports, ensuring they included all the essential elements. With their outlines in hand, the students created comprehensive reports, showcasing their newfound knowledge and research skills.

To bring their reports to life, the students utilized digital tools, allowing them to present their findings in an engaging way. This integration of technology not only enhanced their learning experience but also helped them develop valuable digital literacy skills.

A highlight of this project was when our fourth grade AAPS students had the opportunity to present their informational reports to a kindergarten class. The younger students were captivated by the presentations, and it was a wonderful experience for both the presenters and the audience.

We are incredibly proud of our AAPS students for their hard work and dedication. Their ability to research, plan, and present informative reports is a testament to their academic growth and enthusiasm for learning. Keep up the great work, Shughart Elementary!
