Shughart Elementary had the pleasure of hosting the Takiri Folclor Latino group, a family of Hispanic heritage passionate about dancing and teaching traditional dances from Latin and South America. The group captivated the audience with traditional dances from Colombia and Puerto Rico, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of these regions.

Students were thoroughly engaged and enjoyed the assembly, proudly waving flags of Hispanic countries. Some students wore cultural attire, adding to the celebration’s authenticity and spirit. Kindergarten students wore hats representing various Hispanic countries, bringing an extra layer of festivity to the event. During the intermission, Mrs. Acevado, one of our teachers, enriched the experience further by teaching students frequently used phrases in Spanish, enhancing their cultural appreciation.

This celebration of culture brought joy and learning to our school community, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
